Amicalola Falls site 14
I have had this on the list of places to go. Its so hot here we thought it would be a nice change. Northeast of Dawsonville, Georgia, on the cusp of the North Georgia Mountains, sits Amicalola Falls State Park & Lodge. A nature lover’s wonderland, it’s only 8 miles from the Appalachian Trail and within the Chattahoochee National Forest. The park is named after its most treasured feature, Amicalola Falls – a magnificent 729-foot waterfall that’s the third-highest cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi River. In the thick of the spectacular terrain, stands Amicalola Falls Lodge. website
Coffee at Walmart
We drove just north of Atlanta to Cummings, Stopped at Walmart, had a lovely sleep, nice and cool, and dead quiet.
Moved us to site 14
We hiked all the way down and back up the 725 steps in the rain.
Had to carry Barkley as his feet kept falling through the step grids.
