Flagler again with a stop at Silver Springs State Park on the way back.

Snagged two more nights at Flagler, then one night at Silver Springs state park. Never stayed there before so wanted to take a look. 
Lunch at Red Rose Restaurant, In Astor Area by St Johns River.
We have been coming up I-75 through Ocala instead of I-4 through Orlando.  Much nicer drive with no traffic. Takes about the same amount of time.

Had 1 lb of spiced steamed peel & eat shrimp and a beer at our favourite beach bar, High Tides at Snack Jacks. Its on the beach at the North end of the Park.
Nice weather this time.
They installed a new kayak launch. Its great, you don't even get wet feet.

Big Black bear just crossed the road in front of us.
We rode bikes all around the many trails. Kayak tomorrow after we check out. The launch is at the main Silver Springs attraction. Free to put in with our camping pass.

Getting  excited about our trip. Leaving 24th May 2026.  Flying to England. Stay with Simon & Louise for 2 days. Then we leave in the camper to cross the channel Dover to Calais. Then take 10 days to get to Split, Croatia, where we go cruising on a 54ft sailing yacht. Meeting Georgia, Matt, Parker Fisher, My neice Sophy and her boyfriend Charley. Dover to Split Boat Tour Nita and Tom are taking care of Barkley. He loves it at their house.  Here we go. Arrived on time. We each had 3 seats to lay down and rest.  Just took a nap. Jet lag... Dover, met up with Jill and Steve Ferry from Dover to Calais. It's been so hot. Nice to cool off. Ist stop Bapaume staying in a great spot in the middle of town, even have power.  Louise bought fresh cream slices. So good. Lovely sleep nice and cool.  Walked in to town for bread. ...

Salt Springs Ocala 2026 site 90 closer to the spring.

2 nights at our favorite spring. The weather was really hot on Wednesday when we got there so we jumped in the cool water and after that it was overcast, which was great. Most of the time we had the Spring to ourselves because we went early, then later in the evening when everyone had gone home. So many huge fish 🐟 Striped Bass, like 3ft long, Mullet, blue crab, black sucker fish, blue gill, sunfish. Playing  cards  They play together so well. Sucker fish.
