Chisos Basin 4 nights site 14

We were lucky to get these sites. Lots of switch backs to get here, we are at the limit on length 24ft to make it around the bends.  Our site  is not very level. Have to sleep the opposite way. Beautiful here.  Walked up a very steep trail to get to a lodge. We are surrounded by mountains.

Today we hiked The Window Trail 100 steps down  then more down hill 2 miles. Then you have to come back all uphill.

Had a chat with a blue haired lady on the trail.

The ranger is so nice, trying to find us a better site. He brought us some wooden ramps, that helped quite a bit.

We had such a great day the weather has warmed up. Santa Elena Canyon,

This was a fabulous hike along the Rio Grande, the left side is Mexico the Riight is the US.

Then we had a great meal outside for a change. Fish cakes that we bought in Louisiana.

Saying goodbye to Belinda & Jeff at the Lodge parking lot where we had breakfast, sourdough eggs ham & coffee. They are going further west we are heading home.
