During World War II RAF Kenley was one of the three main fighter stations (Kenley, Croydon and Biggin Hill) responsible for the air defence of London. It was during the crucial days of the Battle of Britain that these three RAF stations came into their own, fighting off the overwhelming might of the German Luftwaffe.

The City Walls form a walkway on both sides of the River Ouse. The Monk Bar gate houses an exhibition tracing the life of 15th-century Plantagenet King Richard III.

Roseberry Topping is a distinctive hill in North Yorkshire, England, known for its unique half-cone shape, which was caused by a geological fault and a 1912 mining collapse. It is a popular destination for walks, offering panoramic views from its summit. The hill is also associated with Captain Cook and has Viking origins for its name.
