Grand Portage National Monument Heritage Center & High Falls
Today we drove 40 miles North East along the North Shore of Lake superior to the Canadian Border. Stopping off at the heritage center, a brand new building, with a mock village, with people doing demonstrations of how the indians did their crafts, including birch bark canoes, and birch bark tents, and wooden bowls. Lacrosse sticks, it was really Interesting. Caroline and I have been going to art stores here In Grand Marias, there is a lot of art using birch bark, so we had a great time. Even picked some from the woods to take home.
