Whitefish Montana Trip

We left Friday 24th July. Made it almost to Nashville spent a hot noisey night at Walmart with trucks coming and going all night.  Next night we stopped and had dinner with Laurie and Dennis, in Jefferson City, then drove on to St Joseph Missouri.   It was still so hot.  Today we drove into Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota.  A really nice drive, through rolling hills of corn and farmland, lots of beef. I went on the overlander ap and found a free campsite in Oacoma along the Missouri River fabulous view of the river surrounded  by green hills. What a great spot. We went for a much needed walk after all that driving. Then made a fire and sat outside and chatted with our neighbor Bob, a Trumper, full timer living in a van. Great guy.

We had a nice swim this morning.
BADLANDS
Stopped at 8pm at a beautiful little campground beside Lake Desmet Wyoming, about 4 hours from Yellowstone. We came here on a recomendation from Bob. This is the 1st campground we have had to pay for $10.
Having shrimp and mushroom curry for dinner with toasted sourdough bread.

Getting  excited about our trip. Leaving 24th May 2026.  Flying to England. Stay with Simon & Louise for 2 days. Then we leave in the camper to cross the channel Dover to Calais. Then take 10 days to get to Split, Croatia, where we go cruising on a 54ft sailing yacht. Meeting Georgia, Matt, Parker Fisher, My neice Sophy and her boyfriend Charley. Dover to Split Boat Tour Nita and Tom are taking care of Barkley. He loves it at their house.  Here we go. Arrived on time. We each had 3 seats to lay down and rest.  Just took a nap. Jet lag... Dover, met up with Jill and Steve Ferry from Dover to Calais. It's been so hot. Nice to cool off. Ist stop Bapaume staying in a great spot in the middle of town, even have power.  Louise bought fresh cream slices. So good. Lovely sleep nice and cool.  Walked in to town for bread. ...

Salt Springs Ocala 2026 site 90 closer to the spring.

2 nights at our favorite spring. The weather was really hot on Wednesday when we got there so we jumped in the cool water and after that it was overcast, which was great. Most of the time we had the Spring to ourselves because we went early, then later in the evening when everyone had gone home. So many huge fish 🐟 Striped Bass, like 3ft long, Mullet, blue crab, black sucker fish, blue gill, sunfish. Playing  cards  They play together so well. Sucker fish.
