Grayson Highland State Park Virginia

Way up on the top of Mount Rogers Virginia,  over 5000 ft, spectacular views if it would only stop raining.  We arrived at 11am,  got a nice plug in site, $36 per night. Its been a few days since we had electricity, so time to recharge phones, computer, kindles. The rain stopped so we rode bikes up a long steep hill to get to Cabin Creek Trail,  that led to a waterfall.  Started down but it poured again, so we scratched that idea and sheltered for a while.   When it stopped we took a trail up the mountain where there were often wild ponies , after about a mile we came across a herd of about 20 of them...with 5 very young colts - one of whom was very bold and ran right up to us a few times. Think the daddy was a Donkey.  He must have gotten to a few of the mares.
