Skyline Drive Virginia

Spent the night in Front Royal, after a grueling day driving through the industrial eye sore that is CT NY, NJ,  DE and MD. It was 94°. Miserable sleeping in the Walmart parking lot.  At Front Royal starts the Skyline Drive, as we drove up the temperature started going down.  It is so beautiful here.  We are in Big Meadow Campground, Shenandoah NP. We saw a Bear at pretty close range, a few Turkey's the deer are walking around the campsite creeping up on us not scared at all. We did get a hike,  in between rain storms. There is a lovely Lodge, hot pay showers, wood for sale, we had a fire last night, cooked Gary's potatoes in foil in the embers.... not a single mosquito bite.

Getting  excited about our trip. Leaving 24th May 2026.  Flying to England. Stay with Simon & Louise for 2 days. Then we leave in the camper to cross the channel Dover to Calais. Then take 10 days to get to Split, Croatia, where we go cruising on a 54ft sailing yacht. Meeting Georgia, Matt, Parker Fisher, My neice Sophy and her boyfriend Charley. Dover to Split Boat Tour Nita and Tom are taking care of Barkley. He loves it at their house.  Here we go. Arrived on time. We each had 3 seats to lay down and rest.  Just took a nap. Jet lag... Dover, met up with Jill and Steve Ferry from Dover to Calais. It's been so hot. Nice to cool off. Ist stop Bapaume staying in a great spot in the middle of town, even have power.  Louise bought fresh cream slices. So good. Lovely sleep nice and cool.  Walked in to town for bread. ...

Salt Springs Ocala 2026 site 90 closer to the spring.

2 nights at our favorite spring. The weather was really hot on Wednesday when we got there so we jumped in the cool water and after that it was overcast, which was great. Most of the time we had the Spring to ourselves because we went early, then later in the evening when everyone had gone home. So many huge fish 🐟 Striped Bass, like 3ft long, Mullet, blue crab, black sucker fish, blue gill, sunfish. Playing  cards  They play together so well. Sucker fish.
