Sydney and Louisburg Nova Scotia
Spent the night in Sydney walmart. Its a bit colder today but sun shining. We drove to Louisburg stopped at dock and bought 5 lb of crab legs. $11 per lb. already cleaned and cooked for us.
We've become skilled snow crab flesh pickers. Here we're fleshing the 5 lbs. at a lookout over Louisburg Harbor on the road to the lighthouse.
We visited historic Louisburg Fort built in 1713. Gurded the port entrance with 40 coastal cannons arrayed in batteries along the coast so formidable firepower could be focused on that entrance. Artillery: the "King of the Battlefield".
Then we went to see the light house at Louisburg, on the site where the 1st lighthouse in North America was built in 1730. This lighthouse is the third on that site.
Barkley: our Canadian sentry on guard for any threatening squirrel or seagull hordes. 🙄
